Full Car Test Rig

We are in the process of improving a full car test rig.

The existing rig is an educational demo equipment that does not have the capability of data logging and lacks user control.

However, it has a pneumatic suspension system and by it self it is a fully active system.

The main task right now is to be able to control the actuator that will generate the road profile for the vehicle.

We hope to obtain a road profile worthy of a typical standard profile used by the industry.

Then, the next step is to mount different types of shock absorbers ranging from passive, semi active and fully active and obtain the ride quality of the full car test rig.

The semi active and the fully active shock absorbers will be tested in isolation in PROTON Bhd using the MTS damper dyno.

Whereas, the passive damper has be tested earlier at the same location.

We are very grateful to PROTON Bhd. for providing us such magnificent support.

The test rig is exactly in the figure below

A big task is ahead of us. We hope for the best to make the rig a success.

The team that will be involved consists of four faculty members, three postgraduate students and three undergraduate students including one experienced technician.

Please do give some feedback to our humble beginning....
